Going to school and obtaining a degree is a process that takes dedication, consistency, and self-awareness. Whether a new high school graduate or a student in college considering pursuing a\u00a0graduate degree<\/a>, many students consider taking gap years.<\/p>\n

According to the\u00a0Gap Year Association<\/a>, a gap year is,\u00a0“a semester or year of\u00a0experiential learning<\/a>, typically taken after high school and prior to career or postsecondary education, to deepen\u00a0one’s\u00a0practical, professional, and personal awareness.”<\/p>\n

The college experience is a rewarding process. For many high school graduates,\u00a0the idea of\u00a0a gap year(s) entails taking at least a\u00a0year long\u00a0break before attending a college or university.
